When You Make the Choice to Learn, Your Ambitions Take Wings

“A Day in the Life of a Product Leader” – Seminar Summary

It’s hard enough waking up early on a Saturday morning - harder still on a misty morning to trudge into a seminar. But over a hundred motivated individuals gathered at the Park Plaza on October 22, for a day of learning and networking.

When author Brian Herbert said “The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill, the willingness to learn is a choice”, he was surely talking about these folks. They took in the Career Progression sessions with Profs. Pinkesh Shah and Rahul Abhyankar with enthusiasm - learning all about their own career anchors (from their personalised assessment reports), and what they could do to accelerate their careers.

The keynote by Ambarish Kenghe, SVP and Head of Products at Myntra focused on “Building Great Products”. The audience peppered this dynamic product leader with questions on building great product leaders as well, leaving him floored with the breadth and diversity of queries.

The post-lunch session saw an insightful and fast-paced lecture on “Growth hacking your way to the top” by Prof. Tathagat Varma, setting up the stage for the panel discussion. Ranjit Radhakrishnan, Chief Products Officer, Byju’s, Gaurav Mathur, Sr Director, User Experience Design at Myntra and Rajiv Kondal, Director - Digital Marketing & Customer Acquisition @ iBibo (Redbus division) were the illustrious panelists. The dynamic young leaders of India’s new unicorns led a lively tete-a-tete with the audience.

The evening drew to a close formally, but informally, the conversations continued over many a cuppa, as the seminar participants crowded around their favourite speaker or panelist and peppered them with questions and doubts (...and we heard, even a pitch or two!)

A Day in the Life of a Product Leader, indeed!
P.S: If you missed the day, don’t worry. We’ll be back in December with another edition of the seminar. Watch this space for details.
