Punekars give DILO a tumultuous welcome
Pune is the heart of Maharashtra in culture, language and education. With an increasing reputation for product innovation and entrepreneurial culture, Pune is now home to scores of multinationals, Indian companies and startups.
IPL’s Day in the Life of a Product Manager seminar series landed in Pune early in February and drew a positive response from the 100+ attendees at the Hyatt. Prof. Shah’s lecture kickstarted the event, followed by the CEO Panel featuring Mr. Shailendra Abhyankar (MD, FIS), Mr. Shridhar Shukla (MD, kPoint) and Mr. Sameer Soman (MD, ThoughtWorks India). The industry leaders talked about Pune as an innovation hub and the larger product ecosystem in India and elsewhere.
The afternoon panel discussion featured senior product practitioners - Meghan Ranade (Symantec) Rajesh Dhingra (Protegrity), Girish Kale (VMWare) and Nitin Shrotri (Mahindra). Their on-the-ground assessments of what it takes to be a product manager, and their journeys to get there made for fascinating listening. Prof. Shaleel Nalakath moderated the discussion and lent his thoughts about what ingredients make the leadership sauce.
