Sunil is currently Sr. Vice President of Products and CEO of Rakuten India. Sunil is currently responsible for scaling out the product and technology footprint for Rakuten across a wide range of Rakuten’s global businesses & Technology initiatives. He is also particularly excited about his role in driving the rapid proliferation of Data Sciences & AI as a culture and as a platform across Rakuten’s products & businesses.
Prior to Rakuten, Sunil was the Product head of India’s #1 Ecommerce company Flipkart’s Marketplace Division, where he helped build out all the products and tools needed to scale the Marketplace business to a $2B+ business with over 100,000 merchants.
He has also held senior leadership roles globally in companies like Intel & Qualcomm driving innovation in Mobile, Wearable Devices & Location Based Services.
Sunil has an MBA from University of California, Berkeley and a MS from Virginia Tech.
