Making New Inroads!

On 23rd June, all the cohorts of the EMBA 2018-A batch came together during the Orientation Program at the CMRIT Campus. It was an eventful day with introductions and Program frameworks by the Faculty on the agenda. Dr. Marya Wani, the Head of Curriculum Design and Learning Experience at the Institute welcomed the cohorts and explained the frameworks of the Program in detail. Prof. Pinkesh, Director of Programs at the Institute went beyond the framework to show how the cohorts could leverage value from the Program by building their network and working together over the next 18 months. He prepped them for the upcoming challenging journey and gave the cohorts a complete picture with respect to the expectations from the Program.

Mr. Naveen Lakkur, an Innovation Coach inspired the cohorts to think outside the box with a creative mindset to stand apart from the crowd. Mr. Sai Satish, who is a faculty at the Institute delved into the Experiential Learning Approach by introducing them to Product Labs that translates ideas into viable Products.

Sridhar Varadrajan, Alumni from the EMBA Class of 2017-C and also a Director reiterated what the Institute faculty had already said, in terms of leveraging value from the Program. He also shared his experiences from classes, giving the cohorts an idea of ‘Learning by doing’ approach inculcated and nurtured at the Institute.

The Program concluded with the 2018-A Class’ first Industry Connect Session where Romil Turakhia, Executive Director – Business Development and Innovation at Candela Labs spoke on ‘Challenges in IP creation when running a products and services business.’ The 2018-A EMBA class has participants from companies as diverse as Nokia, Ford, VMware, Cisco and Unisys. They have begun a transformational journey which is going to accelerate their careers, thinking and perceptions.
